Frequently Asked Questions

Do you accept insurance?

Yes, Conscious Psychiatry accepts major insurances, including Blue Cross/Anthem, United, Aetna, Cigna, Oxford, and Oscar Health. Hormone Therapy is self-pay only.

What can I expect during my first session?

Our initial session will be focused on discussing your concerns thoroughly and developing a personalized treatment plan.

How long do appointments typically last?

Psychiatry intake appointments are approximately 60–90 minutes, with routine follow-ups ranging from 20–60 minutes. Hormone Replacement Therapy intake appointments are 45 minutes, and follow-ups typically range from 20–45 minutes.

How often do I need to be seen?

Psychiatry appointments are typically scheduled no more than three months apart. For Hormone Therapy, most patients have one intake appointment and 2–4 follow-ups before transitioning to annual maintenance care.

Do you offer a consultation before booking?

We do not offer consultations before booking to ensure we can dedicate our time and focus to providing quality service to each patient.

Telehealth:

For telehealth appointments, it’s important to be physically located in the state of Colorado (or FL, OR, KS, NM, WY for HT) at the time of your appointment, as required by state regulations.

For hormone therapy- do you treat based on symptoms or lab results?

We take both your symptoms and lab results into account. Lab testing helps guide safe and evidence-based treatment, but we recognize that hormone levels alone don’t tell the full story. Your symptoms, history, and overall well-being are most important in creating a treatment plan that feels right for you.

How do I refill my prescriptions?

If you’re a current patient and need a prescription refill, just reach out to us through Spruce, or check with your pharmacy to see if a refill is already on file.

What should I do if I have questions about my treatment plan or medication?

If you have any questions or concerns about your treatment plan or medication, please don't hesitate to contact our office. Our team is here to provide guidance and support, and we're happy to address any questions you may have.
